Entry requirements

This qualification has no formal entry criteria however TAFE Queensland Brisbane has the following selection criteria for this qualification;

  • Year 10 or equivalent.

If you’re under 17 years of age, special enrolment conditions may apply.

Login to the Student Self Service to update your personal details and check your grades, and login to Connect to study your course! For new students, your username and password will be sent to you after enrolment. For existing students, please use your existing information.

You will require Microsoft Windows (XP or later version), broadband Internet connection, Microsoft Office Professional (2003 or later) or Microsoft Office University installed on your computer that includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access database.

Before you enrol, please ensure you have (or are able to access) the technical requirements necessary to complete this course.

Important Information

Study is structured into fixed intakes which have set durations (completion date is 12 weeks from the commencement date of each intake). Study can be commenced at the beginning of each intake, with dates as follows:


  • Study duration: 14/05/2018 - 03/08/2018

Students will be able to access the online course content from the first day of each intake. Please refer to the course structure for detailed information on the units delivered in each intake.

Students may enrol in up to 2 units of competency per intake, to ensure management of study load.


The successful achievement of this qualification requires you to complete 7 core and 7 elective units. Upon successful completion of all 14 units you will receive a Certificate II in Information, Digital Media and Technology.

Payment Plan

If you have difficulty paying the full cost of a course up front you might be eligible for a payment plan. This will allow you to pay for your course in instalments, rather than one upfront payment at the time of enrolment.


The Queensland Government will offset the cost of study for eligible students. You will still need to pay for a portion of your study costs. The amount above is what you will need to pay.

Certificate 3 Guarantee

You can receive a subsidy towards one certificate III qualification from a list of subsidised courses.

You're eligible for the Certificate 3 Guarantee if you:

  • Are 15 years or older and no longer in school
  • Living in Queensland full time
  • Are an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or temporary resident with the necessary visa or work permits
  • And don't currently have (or are enrolled in) a certificate 3 or higher level qualification.
