Get a start in your career in health

We will teach you how to provide support to nursing staff and ward clerks. You will also give direct care to patients including showering, bathing, hair washing, shaving, mouth and denture care, pressure area and skin, eye and ear care. Assist with toileting, removal and cleaning of bedpans and urinals, repositioning, general ward ambulation and support mobilisation.

The Certificate III in Health Services Assistance is recommended for students wishing to enrol in the Diploma of Nursing or those wanting to establish a career in the health services industry. Course details

Study nursing at TAFE Queensland Brisbane

As a nurse, you'll work with a team of professional health practitioners in situations where patients put their life in your hands. So make sure your career is in safe hands too, with a Diploma of Nursing from TAFE Queensland Brisbane. After just 18 months you'll be fully qualified in nursing care, patient health analysis and administration, and monitoring medications.

Payment Plan

If you have difficulty paying the full cost of a course up front you might be eligible for a payment plan. This will allow you to pay for your course in instalments, rather than one upfront payment at the time of enrolment.

Subsidised

The Queensland Government will offset the cost of study for eligible students. You will still need to pay for a portion of your study costs. The amount above is what you will need to pay.

Certificate 3 Guarantee

You can receive a subsidy towards one certificate III qualification from a list of subsidised courses.

You're eligible for the Certificate 3 Guarantee if you:

  • Are 15 years or older and no longer in school
  • Living in Queensland full time
  • Are an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or temporary resident with the necessary visa or work permits
  • And don't currently have (or are enrolled in) a certificate 3 or higher level qualification.
