Our accelerated Diploma of Marketing and Communication will provide you with the contemporary, industry-relevant marketing and business skills you need to forge a successful career. In the course, you will learn about conducting customer research, web design, digital marketing and communications, writing small business marketing plans, and developing promotional programs for new products. In addition, you will learn how to pitch advertising concepts, how to identify and exploit market opportunities, and how to understand consumer behaviour. Entry requirements

The entry requirement for this qualification are the five units listed below. These units are included in the delivery of this qualification at an upfront cost of $250.

  • BSBCMM401 Make a presentation
  • BSBCRT401 Articulate, present and debate ideas
  • BSBMGT407 Apply digital solutions to work processes
  • BSBMKG417 Apply marketing communication across a convergent industry
  • BSBMKG418 Develop and apply knowledge of marketing communication industry

It is recommended that participants have five years' work experience, practical management experience, and an understanding of business issues in large organisations.

Resources required

No specific resources are required to successfully complete this course.

It is recommended that students have access to a reliable internet connection to access TAFE Queensland's online learning system "Connect", and a computer with up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Flash Player. This equipment and software is available for students to use at all TAFE Queensland locations.

VET Student Loans

VET Student Loans are an interest-free loan from the Australian Government that help students pay for their education and training.

TAFE Queensland receives the full loan amount for your course directly from the Government, and you repay your loan through the Australian taxation system once your income reaches a certain threshold.

You are eligible for a VET Student Loan if you:

You must demonstrate academic suitability by:

  • providing a copy of your Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (year 12 certificate); OR
  • providing evidence of successful completion of an Australian Qualifications Framework certificate IV or higher qualification (where the language of instruction is English), OR
  • are assessed as a minimum of Exit Level 3 in the Australian Core Skills Framework (ASCF) in both reading and numeracy

Please note that all students enrolling in an accredited course are required to provide a Unique Student Identifier (USI).

Payment Plan

If you have difficulty paying the full cost of a course up front, or you are not eligible for VET Student Loan, you might be eligible for a payment plan. This will allow you to pay for your course in instalments, rather than one upfront payment at the time of enrolment.

Subsidised

The Queensland Government will offset the cost of study for eligible students. You will still need to pay for a portion of your study costs. The amount above is what you will need to pay.

Higher Level Skills Subsidy

You're eligible for the Higher Level Skills Subsidy if you:

  • Are 15 years or older and no longer in school
  • Live in Queensland full time
  • Are an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or temporary resident with the necessary visa or work permits
  • And don't currently have (or are enrolled in) a certificate IV or higher level qualification.
  • Other restrictions or eligibility criteria may apply

Concession
