How to enrol

Study Science and Allied Health at TAFE Queensland Brisbane

Have a passion for helping diagnose and cure disease and illness? Are you curious about the human body and solving scientific problems? Then our science and allied health courses are for you! You don't have to be a doctor or a nurse to work in the esteemed medical field! Entry requirements

This qualification has no formal entry requirements however TAFE Queensland Brisbane has the following selection criteria for this qualification:

Full-time delivery:

  • Due to the high-level content of this course, competency in mathematics, science and English (equivalent to Year 10 or above) are highly desirable but not a requirement.

If you’re under 17 years of age, special enrolment conditions may apply.

Workplace/TAFE delivery:

  • Applicants for this workplace based qualification are required to be currently employed in a laboratory or testing environment with support from a suitably qualified workplace supervisor. The scope of work based tasks available to the applicant must be sufficient to fulfil the practical requirements of this program.

No specific resources are required to successfully complete this course.

It is recommended that students have access to a reliable internet connection to access TAFE Queensland's online learning system Connect, and a computer with up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Flash Player. VET Student Loans

VET Student Loans are an interest-free loan from the Australian Government that help students pay for their education and training.

TAFE Queensland receives the full loan amount for your course directly from the Government, and you repay your loan through the Australian taxation system once your income reaches a certain threshold.

You are eligible for a VET Student Loan if you:

You must demonstrate academic suitability by:

  • providing a copy of your Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (year 12 certificate); OR
  • providing evidence of successful completion of an Australian Qualifications Framework certificate IV or higher qualification (where the language of instruction is English), OR
  • are assessed as a minimum of Exit Level 3 in the Australian Core Skills Framework (ASCF) in both reading and numeracy

Please note that all students enrolling in an accredited course are required to provide a Unique Student Identifier (USI).

Payment Plan

If you have difficulty paying the full cost of a course up front, or you are not eligible for VET Student Loan, you might be eligible for a payment plan. This will allow you to pay for your course in instalments, rather than one upfront payment at the time of enrolment.

Subsidised

The Queensland Government will offset the cost of study for eligible students. You will still need to pay for a portion of your study costs. The amount above is what you will need to pay.
