Paint a bright future with TAFE

This course will give you an edge in today's fashion world, and arm you with a comprehensive portfolio of work. Spaced over 2 years, part-time, you will develop the skills and techniques needed to work in the design, manufacturing, and retail areas of the fashion hats and accessories industry. In your final semester, you will have the opportunity to apply for overseas study tours to global fashion destinations, including New York, London, Paris, Milan, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and New Delhi. The course provides ample opportunity to show off your creations at industry events, such as the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival and the QLD Spring Racing Carnival. In addition, you can compete at student designer competitions and sell your garments at South Bank's Young Designers Market. You will also be able to participate in our graduate fashion parade, which always attracts media attention and could be your chance to make a name for yourself. Course details

Resources required

It is recommended that students have access to a reliable internet connection to access TAFE Queensland's online learning system Connect and a computer with up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Flash Player. This equipment and software is available for students to use at all TAFE Queensland locations.

Access to sewing machines and specialised equipment will be provided during class time.

VET Student Loans

VET Student Loans are an interest-free loan from the Australian Government that help students pay for their education and training.

TAFE Queensland receives the full loan amount for your course directly from the Government, and you repay your loan through the Australian taxation system once your income reaches a certain threshold.

If you have difficulty paying the full cost of a course up front, or you are not eligible for VET Student Loan, you might be eligible for a payment plan. This will allow you to pay for your course in instalments, rather than one upfront payment at the time of enrolment.

Subsidised

The Queensland Government will offset the cost of study for eligible students. You will still need to pay for a portion of your study costs. The amount above is what you will need to pay.
