There is strong job growth in the events administration sector with the Australian Government predicting more than 50,000 job openings in the industry in the next five years.

This course will give you the foundation skills and knowledge to provide event staging support, operate reservation software and operating systems and more. Entry requirements

This qualification has no formal entry criteria; however, TAFE Queensland Brisbane has the following selection criteria for this qualification:

  • school leavers must have completed Year 10 or equivalent, or
  • non school-leavers are selected according to eligibility and merit, vocational experience, previous study and personal competencies.

Resources required

It is recommended that students have access to a reliable internet connection to access TAFE Queensland's online learning system Connect and a computer with up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Flash Player. This equipment and software is available for students to use at all TAFE Queensland locations.

COTAH is a hub of industry activity with frequent visits from Events and Hospitality employers to all campuses and we have a strong commitment to showing our students and our College in the best light - with professional presentation a must for this customer facing industry, Therefore Uniforms are compulsory across all TAFE Queensland Brisbane campuses. Uniforms are to be worn at all times on and off campus, theory and practical, plus during any/all excursions. This ensures that our students are recognised by Industry as highly employable graduates with impeccable standards of presentation and dress.

Uniforms are included in the course cost. Students will be fitted in their first week of study. Students will be able to purchase any additional uniform items at their own cost.

•Uniform provisions included in course costs are: 1 polo shirt, 1 mandarin jacket; 1 Apron and 1 Name Badge

Students are required to provide their own Black dress Pants, (no Jeans or skinnies), black socks and  Black closed in Shoes (for WHS reasons sneakers or Sandshoes are not allowed)

Payment Plan

If you have difficulty paying the full cost of a course up front you might be eligible for a payment plan. This will allow you to pay for your course in instalments, rather than one upfront payment at the time of enrolment.


The Queensland Government will offset the cost of study for eligible students. You will still need to pay for a portion of your study costs. The amount above is what you will need to pay.

Certificate 3 Guarantee

You can receive a subsidy towards one certificate III qualification from a list of subsidised courses.

You're eligible for the Certificate 3 Guarantee if you:

  • Are 15 years or older and no longer in school
  • Living in Queensland full time
  • Are an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or temporary resident with the necessary visa or work permits
  • And don't currently have (or are enrolled in) a certificate 3 or higher level qualification.

If you want to go on to further study at university, TAFE Queensland has a pathway option to get you there.
