The Certificate III in Hairdressing encompasses the practical skills you need to start a career as a hair stylist, plus the operational and employability skills required to work in a hair salon. Practical based learning - topics include cutting, styling, colouring, chemically straightening waving, scalp and hair treatments. Payment Plan

If you have difficulty paying the full cost of a course up front you might be eligible for a payment plan. This will allow you to pay for your course in instalments, rather than one upfront payment at the time of enrolment.

Subsidised

The Queensland Government will offset the cost of study for eligible students. You will still need to pay for a portion of your study costs. The amount above is what you will need to pay.

Certificate 3 Guarantee

You can receive a subsidy towards one certificate III qualification from a list of subsidised courses.

You're eligible for the Certificate 3 Guarantee if you:

  • Are 15 years or older and no longer in school
  • Living in Queensland full time
  • Are an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or temporary resident with the necessary visa or work permits
  • And don't currently have (or are enrolled in) a certificate 3 or higher level qualification.

University pathways

If you want to go on to further study at university, TAFE Queensland has a pathway option to get you there. In many cases, completing one of our diplomas will give you a full year of credit towards a degree with one of our partner universities.
