Our Diploma of Graphic Design / Bachelor of Graphic Design pathway offers you experience in the exciting world of graphic design, digital arts and visual communications. Expand on your creative talents through practical exercises in design, pre-press, web development, multimedia, photography, production, interpretation of briefs, branding, marketing and client/project management. You will be studying in a high-end Mac studio using industry standard Adobe Creative Cloud software. You will also have access to commercial-grade photography and drawing/illustration facilities. During your study, you will work on a number of print and web design, branding and identity projects that will add to your professional portfolio. Graduates of the Diploma portion can continue into second year of the Bachelor Degree. The fantastic degree  is one of the most current and progressive courses of its kind in the country. You will be directly involved with the industry projects and tackle an exciting range of professional briefs that address relevant problems faced by society today. TAFE Queensland Brisbane has the following selection criteria for this qualification:

  • School leavers must have completed Year 12 or equivalent (pass standard in English and Art) or
  • Have relevant industry experience/employment.
  • Ideally, you will need to have a reasonable working knowledge of the PC Windows or Mac environment. Industry standard is the Mac platform.

Required computer literacy skills include:

  • Being able to logically organise work files in directories or computer files
  • Knowing how to make a file, save a file, and find it again
  • Using the internet to find information, send emails, open and save attachments and pictures
  • Simple text skills -  for example, typing up an assignment with basic formatting and printing it out
  • Resolve minor application problems through the use of the help menu

VET Student Loans are a loan from the Australian Government that help students pay for their education and training.

PAYMENT PLAN

If you have difficulty paying the full cost of a course up front, you might be eligible for a payment plan. This will allow you to pay for your course in instalments, rather than one upfront payment at the time of enrolment.

HECS-HELP

HECS-HELP is an interest-free loan from the Australian Government that helps you pay for higher education qualifications, such as associate degrees or bachelor degrees. TAFE Queensland Brisbane receives the full loan amount for your course directly from the Government, and you repay your loan through the Australian taxation system once your income reaches a certain threshold.

COMMONWEALTH SUPPORTED PLACE

The Australian Government subsidises some students' university fees, which makes the cost for those students much lower.  If you receive the subsidised fee rate you are known as a Commonwealth Supported Student (CSS), or as holding a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP).
