For some students, school is just not their thing. That's why we offer our TAFE at School program. The program allows students to get a head start in the workforce by taking part in TAFE Queensland's vocational education and training (VET) options while they are in Year 11 and 12.
All they need to do is enrol in one of our courses as part of our TAFE at School program and attend a TAFE Queensland location one day per week during the school term over one or two years, completely dependent on the course they choose.
After you have discussed the options and helped the student make a decision on the right course, all you have to do is contact the TAFE in Schools unit. We will then send out the appropriate forms and enrolment documents so the student can get started.
At TAFE Queensland we offer information evenings for school career guidance officers, parents and students.
At these events we outline the enrolment process, student rules and expectations, program plans, conduct tours of our facilities and outline exactly how to apply for the program.
You will be advised of specific dates, times and locations of these evenings as they are organised.
If you know some of your students would be interested in this program, please contact us so that we can help you set it up at your school.
Students need to know that they don't necessarily need to go to university to get somewhere in life. TAFE Queensland might be the answer for them.
Our educational facility offers:
In even better news, school leavers don't need an OP to apply at TAFE Queensland for many courses, although some of our high demand courses do require a QTAC application.
TAFE Queensland Brisbane also offers a number of Queensland Government Subsidies for school leavers including:
